Terms of use

SpotThrift lists items that participating thrift stores have scanned into their inventory. We show what a store believes it has on its shelves, which store, and when it was recorded.

Stock is not reserved. An item may sell, move or be withdrawn before the listing updates. A listing is not an offer to sell and does not guarantee availability, condition or price.

Items are identified by software, with a certainty score shown on every listing. Descriptions, brands and prices can be wrong. A market value, where shown, is an estimate of typical resale prices and is not a valuation, appraisal or advice.

Shopper accounts are free. A paid plan adds alerts and is billed monthly; you can end it at any time and it runs to the end of the period paid for. Store accounts are created by invitation from SpotThrift or from a store administrator.

Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Don’t scrape the catalog, attempt to access other people’s accounts or data, or use the service to harass stores or their staff. We may suspend accounts that do.

Stores are responsible for the accuracy of what they scan and for removing items that have sold. Photographs taken in a store are the store’s; by using SpotThrift the store grants us a licence to display them.

SpotThrift is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a wasted journey, a mis-identified item, an inaccurate price, or anything else arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Some shop pages display photos, opening hours and visitor reviews supplied by Google Maps. Use of these features is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service. Google chooses the review excerpts displayed; they are visitors’ opinions, not endorsements by SpotThrift. Follow the links beside photos and reviews to view or report the original content.

Business details and opening hours can change. Confirm with the shop before travelling. If you upload a storefront photo, you must have permission to publish it and confirm that it shows the correct shop.
